  • Principally located in Idaho, just 30 minutes west of Boise, Idaho
  • The average temperature is relatively cool and rainfall is low, creating a shorter growing season
  • An abundance of south facing slopes that provide the conditions for air movement ensuring the absence of frost during bud break and at harvest
  • The sandy loam volcanic soil provides good water drainage
  • Current production is led by hardy grapes such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Chardonnay
  • The climate also supports the production of ice wine
  • Some warmer microclimates within the area can also support different types of grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot
